For 18 years, I served as the office manager and bookkeeper for Westworth Church of Christ in Fort Worth — and honestly? I loved it. There's something deeply satisfying about bringing order to the numbers, knowing that the work you do behind the scenes helps an organization run smoothly and confidently.
Over the last seven years I've been in the classroom as a teacher, which gave me a whole new appreciation for one thing: people grow when they have the right support. Whether it's a student learning something for the first time or a business owner trying to make sense of their cash flow, I genuinely love being the person who helps make that click.
Eventually, though, I missed bookkeeping — the detail work, the satisfaction of a reconciled account, the feeling of handing someone a clean set of books and watching the stress leave their face. So I came back to it, and I couldn't be happier. I earned my QuickBooks Online certification, launched Jaybird Bookkeeping, and haven't looked back.
I started Jaybird with local small business owners in mind — the kind of hardworking people who are great at what they do but didn't get into business to spend their evenings untangling transactions. That's where I come in.
